Victory at McDonald’s For Employee Free Choice

On December 18, after more than 500 activists visited nearly 100 McDonald’s locations nation wide, including right next door to our office, to talk with workers and consumers about McDonald’s opposition to Employee Free Choice, the company issued a statement backing down from their previous opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act because of our work!

While workers told SEIU members that they needed raises and some hadn’t gotten wage increases in years, the company said they are not engaged in anti-union activity and even acknowledged the tough economic times.

This victory is a great start for our campaign to restore the middle class and protect workers’ rights to speak out for better wages and benefits. Standing together, we can make Employee Free Choice a reality!
